Online qualifications for the Irish Open 2011 now available on Ladbrokes Poker

Dublin is one of the most exciting cities in Europe, most famous for the friendly atmosphere and vibrant nightlife. Visitors can enjoy a vast range of entertainment as well as the many new and historic tourist attractions. On 22nd - 25th April 2011, Dublin will also once again host Europe’s longest running poker tournament - Irish Open.

The 2010 Irish Open winner, Englishman James Mitchell, beat a professional-heavy field of 707 players (including stars such as Dan Harrington, Sandra Naujoks, Brian Townsend, Kara Scott, Marty Smyth and Neil Channing) and won a massive first prize of €600,000. The total prize pool reached a whopping €2,265,200.

Daily qualifiers for this event are already underway on Ladbrokes Poker from just €3. Monthly finals take place on the last Sunday of the month at 18:30 GMT, guaranteeing two Irish Open packages worth €5,500 each.

This long running tournament has been improved this year with the Main Event set to offer 20,000 in starting chips, double the amount from last year and with the travel and spending money increased, this European based event will be attractive to Ladbrokes players who will be hoping for the luck of the Irish.

Terms and Conditions

  1. At any Level (satellite or online final), any player can buy in for cash + fee. Players can buy-in direct online for a full package price of €5,500.
  2. Any individual player can only win one seat at the Irish Open, Dublin.
  3. Microgaming’s package will include: 5 nights’ hotel accommodation from 21st April; the entrance fee into the Irish Open Main Event, Dublin, starting on 22nd April 2011; €1,275 towards travel expenses and spending money, which will be credited to each package winner’s poker account.
  4. No cash alternative will be offered if players’ win a package but do not require hotel accommodation.
  5. Players’ hotel accommodation will be booked for 5 nights for the player plus one guest.
  6. Players will be responsible for all additional charges to their room – internet, mini-bar etc. Players will be expected to present a credit card on arrival at the hotel to cover any extras.
  7. Players will be responsible for organising their own airport transfers to and from the hotel.
  8. No cash awards will be made from Satellite game seat wins to the next level. All prizes are entries to the next level of the competition with the exception of the final, the prize for which is a Package to each of the winners. The only possible way for a player to be paid a cash award is if there are insufficient entries in a satellite or at the final to cover the cost of additional seats to the next level. In this instance, the nature and value of any award will be determined by Microgaming whose decision shall be final.
  9. Microgaming reserves the right to buy-back entire Packages from players who have won a final Package for the Irish Open, Dublin Tournament. The price payable by Microgaming to buy-back a Package will be €5,500.
  10. It is the individual winner's responsibility to arrange their own travel to Dublin for the event and to ensure that all travel documents (passport and visa, as required) are in order and to obtain any required travel and medical insurance. Lack of proper travel documents may be grounds for disqualification.
  11. By entering the Irish Open, Dublin Online Final or Satellites or live event, players agree that their real names, aliases and images can be used for promotional purposes.
  12. By entering the Irish Open, Dublin Online Final or Satellites, players agree that, should they win a Package, they will wear Microgaming Operator apparel (hats and/or T-Shirts) if it is provided to them and they will wear the apparel in accordance with the instructions of Microgaming management.
  13. Awarding of any and all prizes is at the sole discretion of Microgaming management and any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
  14. The winner of a seat at the Irish Open, Dublin Online Satellites and/or Final tournament cannot sell, trade, assign or in any way transfer such seat to another person, and Microgaming will not award cash in lieu of a seat at the Irish Open, Dublin Online Tournament or land based Final.
  15. In exceptional circumstances, Microgaming may agree to the transfer of a seat to another player on the MPN – but this is at the sole discretion of Microgaming.
  16. As in all tournaments, players may not sit out. Players who are not present shall be "blinded off" and their hands folded until they have no more chips and are eliminated.
  17. All satellite games shall be Single or Multi-Table, no-limit Hold'em tables, following standard Microgaming rules.
  18. The prizes will be displayed in the tournament lobby as registration closes for each tournament.
  19. Decisions as to players' eligibility to enter the Irish Open, Dublin Online Final and/or Satellites and to remain in and compete in same are at the sole discretion of Microgaming management and any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
  20. Microgaming management reserves the right to deny entry to Irish Open Dublin Online Final and Satellites and/or remove a player or disqualify a player from same and any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
  21. Microgaming management reserves the right to change the rules and/or structure of the Irish Open, Dublin Online Final and/or Satellite Tournaments at its sole discretion. Any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
  22. Players must be of legal age to participate in any of the tournaments. Players must be at least 18 years old to attend the Irish Open live event in Dublin.
  23. Microgaming shall in no way be liable for any injuries, losses, damages or expenses suffered or incurred by any winner of a Package as a direct or indirect result of accepting the Package and participating in the Irish Open, Dublin.
  24. LEGALITY, INFORMATION DISCLOSURE AND TAXATION OF WINNINGS: Microgaming jealously guards its participants' privacy. However, there may be circumstances in which disclosure of information to regulatory or fiscal authorities is necessary or desirable, and Microgaming reserves the right to release information in such circumstances. Please note that Microgaming cannot advise on the tax position of winners, as some jurisdictions treat poker wins as tax free, while in other jurisdictions such proceeds are taxable. If the winnings are taxable in your jurisdiction, you are solely responsible to keep track of and report your winnings to the appropriate authorities. Likewise, Microgaming cannot advise on whether the playing of poker over the internet is lawful in your jurisdiction. You must establish that your participation on Microgaming is lawful in your own jurisdiction.
