An introduction to... Hand History

The Instant Hand History (IHH) is accessed directly at the table. It is available on a per table, per session basis and is thus excellent for information gathering on a live basis. The record begins after the first complete hand a player observes or participates in. Hands can be scrolled through both backwards and forwards.

To open the IHH, click the "Hand History" link in the bottom left of the table frame. This opens a second client application which can be used at the same time that particular table (and any other) continues. Please note that this window will not tile automatically, unlike an additional game table.

You can can use the IHH to view the following:

• The hand number,
• Your own cards, if you participated,
• The community cards,
• Any other player's cards that were revealed during the hand,
• All mucked cards during a contested showdown,
• The value of the pot,
• Your contribution to the pot,
• The chat from the hand.

The Lobby Hand History (LHH) is a more advanced tool that allows you to search your previous hands in detail. As you play, your hand history is recorded in a software-controlled local folder on your computer.

To open the LHH functionality, via the "Preferences" menu in the Poker Lobby. When "Hand History" is selected, the "Game History Exporter" dialog box is displayed. This box has two tabs:

• View Hand History, and
• Configuration.

View Hand History

This feature enables you to search for specific hands, using either the basic or advanced search criteria. The basic search allows you to search for hands over a recent period of time, or a specified number of hands. You can also differentiate between hands that you participated in, or merely observed.

The advanced search enables you to refine your search in a much more detailed manner, so that key hands can be tracked down more easily. Using the drop down lists, you will be able to narrow the search by selecting:

• Table Name
• Tournament ID
• Table Type
• Game Type

Once the search has been conducted the results will displayed in two ways:

Hand History displays:

• Hand Number
• Table Name
• Table Type
• Game Type
• Hole Cards
• Winner
• Currency
• Stakes
• Pot
• Gain/Loss
• Rake

Detailed History displays the hand record as well as the chat from a hand. The details can then be exported and saved on their computer as a text file.

Configuration

On this tab you can set the following:

• Specify whether or not they want to save hand history records.
• Select the maximum number of days they want to store the records for.
• Specify the maximum number of hands they want to save.
• Select whether they want to store Dealer chat only. The default is Dealer chat and Player chat.

Please note: Hand histories are only available on downloaded clients. Instant Play Poker does not support this functionality.
