Hey,

Sorry I haven't posted recently, as always, been stupidly busy and have had hardly any time to stop and think. Since splitting up with my long term boyfriend a few months back I've made an effort to keep busy by seeing friends and playing poker.

Played a fair amount of poker over the last couple of weeks, a lot of the £30 deep stack tournaments @ the International. Nothing of any interest to report, either made some stupid all in calls or became a crap shoot and had to put my chips in with a mediocre hand. I’m finding it really tricky at the moment, I make it fairly deep into these tourneys but find myself very short stacked. I know I should be playing position but due to the style of these comps, a lot of players are in the same situation and someone’s sticking their chips all in, in early position and I’m looking down at cards which I can’t simply call with. I definitely need to loosen up and start playing more hands to try and steal the blinds and antes.

I played the £80 Fo the other night and got down to the final two tables, same story and kicking myself now as there were occasions when I should have been pushing when it came round to me. At this point I was on the ‘feature table’, although doubtful a lot of people watch it, I find myself feeling uneasy. What didn’t make things any easier was when this guy who I’ve played with before is a complete arse, he always makes comments like ‘I only call you cos you’re a bird’, this time he made some comment about me having a big pair (like I haven’t heard that one before!)…then some other guy kicks off about him having to make an apology to me. Like this makes me feel any more comfortable.

Have quite a lot planned for poker over the next week. It’s London Masters at the International next week and will be playing the £200, £300 and £500 Freezeouts, I have someone backing me for a percentage, so nice to have that support and also to think someone thinks I’m worth the punt.

Next Friday I'll be going up to Manchester for our VIP event which will be a £200 Freezeout with an expected £10,000 in the prize pool. I'll be heading up north with the Ladbrokes Poker VIP Team, Boyzone star Shane Lynch and Ladbrokes Pro Skalie to meet the VIPs at the Manchester 235 Casino. I will be playing but any winnings will be going to Charity (sods law this will be the first event i take down in ages!).

Anyway, I’ll blog about it afterwards

Love

Amy xx
