Nebuchad has surgery on foot

15th November 2008

I do not remember a lot from the accident except the first blow (I was trying out kite surfing but flew up onto land). Then another blow and I lost consciousness. Then my friend Eric carried me in his arms to a pick-up that took us to a pier where a speedboat was waiting to take me to a hospital. My memory begins again laying on different stretchers between different hospital rooms. I was terrified. After several x-rays and scans of my head it was time for the operation table. Then the first real pain hits me. The nurse pushed a catheter in my urinpipe. I was screaming loudly. What a pain, lol! Then I called on Eric and asked him to get them to put me to sleep. They were going to operate on my broken foot. Apparently the bones where pointing out all over the place. However, four screws later everything was put back in place. But, I did not really get to rest since they scanned my head for brain damage every now and then the first two to three days. It seems like I am going to get through this and everything feels very optimistic at the moment. I hope. Eric has been with me for 6 days now. He fixed everything with insurance and stuff before the operation. It has been incredibly nice to have a Swedish friend that I can talk to. I have been scared to death. More scared than I have ever been before.

I got an update from the doctors this morning. The accident gave me a crumbled foot that I should not rest on for two months. A fractured skull that seems to heal nicely. I will continue to be dizzy but it will be better for every day. Then I also got some other small fractures. They had a lot of x-rays.

Nevertheless, everything is going the right way. It is looking positive. I feel as happy as is possible considering the circumstances. I have a drip and maybe I can lose some weight on such a diet? Evidently I get all that my body needs through the drip. The only problem is when I am taking medicine as tablets. They then want me to order lunch so that the effect of the medicine is better in my body. As a result I get lunch and a drip which probably is too much energy for a bed bound Nebu. It would have been the “nuts” if I could have burnt some fat while I am here. Those that know me know that I always order low calorie beer at the pub, wherever I am. Maybe they have low calorie drip? If so please give me ha ha!!

I want to finish with a big thanks to all that have supported me and who have written nice messages. Thanks for the support!!
