Visiting Buddha
22nd November 2008
Yesterday I showed my respect to Buddha when we went to a temple and with great effort climbed a lot of stairs. Very sweaty! It is a shame that we did not have a camera with us to take a photo as proof of our achievement. However, some people took photos of me when I was on my crutches sweating on the stairs. Once up the stairs the Buddha was surrounded by a lot of clocks that the tourists were knocking on. I was unsure why they were doing it. I made the tourists laugh when I followed their example and hit the clocks with my crouches. After we had struggled all the way down the stairs again we rested and had a coconut each.
Then we went to a hairdresser and barber. Now I am newly shaved for the first time in November! I looked like a real scumbag before. The beard didn’t suit me at all. I have never been so bearded before! Now I actually look pretty descent. I had a lot of skin scraped of my face when in the accident but it has healed surprisingly well. I don’t think I need to have any facial cosmetic surgery in Sweden. I have had some luck even though I was unlucky with the accident. My insurance company will even let me fly first class home!
Another positive thing I have been thinking of is that I since I am on crutches for two months my arm must get bigger :)? It would not have hurt to see some more muscles on them! So I feel good about using the crutches for a while. Over and out!
