Sailing trip so far

31st July 2009

We took off with my dear friend Erik Friberg and his girlfriend Therese who came onboard in Strömstad. They didn’t last long, the tough life at sea made them throw in the towel two days later.:) First stop was Grebbestad and the day after we were in Smögen. We had two days of smooth sailing and we were also lucky to catch quite a lot of sunshine. Erik and Therese were picked up from Smögen by my girlfriend’s sister and her German boyfriend Max. We had a fantastic sail to Marstrand with good wind and lots of sunshine.

We have now been stuck in Marstrand for three nights due to strong winds. We didn’t get much sleep last night because hard tail pressure and nearby boats. You can’t help but being a bit worried with such strong winds so I have been up at least three times last night to check that the boat is ok. A bit of a shame but we are having fun anyway. What can you do when you are the only man onboard who would be happy to sail out and show God who is who?

San Remo and back...

8th May 2009
The last month I have been taking it pretty easy when it comes to playing. I have mostly been grinding it out on 25-50, with some 50-100 and 10-20 mixed in there. Results have been ok but nothing special.

However, I am satisfied with that for now. The summer is getting nearer every day and the sun is welcomed in this part of the world (Sweden). It makes me happy but it sure doesn’t make me want to sit in front of a computer all day. So I havent been playing too much. My online average is around 10 hours/week which is too low and in the long run that will have to change. But I dont think i want to change it until after the summer. I went to San Remo for the EPT and I spent a week in Italy. I visited Pisa, Rome and Monte-Carlo. Really nice experiance overall even if I must say that I appreciated Monte-Carlo the most. Especially since we were seated next to Francesco Totti during breakfast! How cool is that for a guy who loves football!? He had a normal looking t-shirt on hom but when he left it said "NUMBER 10" on the back. Funny. The evening before we paid "Louis XV" a visit which is located at "hotel du Paris" and the restaurant is 9th on the world ranking which made me eat even though I was satisfied a long time ago.

In the tournament I busted out late on the second day - just before the bubble (130th or something). Lars Luzak picked up a big hand when I made a move and I was done. There were 1080 entrants so it was a large field. Too bad that we cant get a better structure at the EPT’s.

The plans for the next month and summer is pretty clear to me. I am going to sail as much as possible and be with friends. The summer in Sweden is the best and sailing from port to port with some friends along is just great, especielly during high season when the party is crazy! Well thats all for now, see you soon, ciao!
