Day 11

Just 79 of the original 6,844 entrants will return for Day Six of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. Amongst their number is the final remaining Team Ladbrokes player, Peter "Pete4002" Eastgate, from Denmark. He has 2,629,000 chips and currently lies 13th in the standings.

News

Team Ladbrokes went into Day Five with two players still chasing of a place at November's final table. Whilst the good news is that Peter Eastgate is still in with a very good shout, the dream is over for another year for sponsored pro Jeff "Jaffacake" Kimber.

Jeff went out in drastically unlucky fashion. Having struggled with poor cards for much of the day, he got his stack in the to middle pre-flop holding K-K. He was caklled by Jamal Kunbuz, who was holding 9-9. A disaterous T-T-9 flop was followed by the unhelpful Q turn and 4 river, and the North East's finest was out in 120th place.

Peter Eastgate, meanwhile, had been keeping out of trouble and slowly building his stack to over 1,000,000 chips. However, in the penultimate level of the day he found himself catapulted amongst the chip leaders.

Greg Debora raised to 70,000 from the button and Peter re-popped it to 200,000 from the small blind. Debora moved all-in for his last 430,000 and the young Dane made the fairly obligatory call holding J-J. Debora held A-T, and the board came down: K-7-6-3-6 to nearly double "Pete4002" up to 2.2 million.

He has a tough table draw for Day Six, which is as follows:

Chris Klodnicki (2,496,000)
Kido Pham (1,600,000)
Aaron Keay (990,000)
Anthony Scherer (2,245,000)
Alfredo Fernandez (3,053,000)
Peter Eastgate (2,629,000)
Judet Christian (3,031,000)
Scott Montgomery (1,669,000)
Mauro Lupo (2,261,000)
