Day 8

It's Day Three at the World Series of Poker, and at the start of play (20:00 BST) Team Ladbrokes has 35 players remaining. Over the first two (well, six) days, the field has been whittled down from 6,844 players to just 1,308, which means that over half of the remaining players will finish 'in the money'. From a purely statistical point of view, we'd therefore expect a record 18 players to make the money - fingers crossed!

For those players not in the Main Event, the Ladbrokes Lounge will be hosting its (in)famous karaoke night. I dread to think what classics will be being belted out - I just hope Andrew the Doorman has been provided with suitable protective equipment for his ears.

News

It was a fantastic Day 2B for Team Ladbrokes, as nearly half of the remaining players survived into Day Three. Amongst the frontrunners is Kristian "Obbe" Obarius who has amassed a stack of over 200,000 chips. Other players in six figures include Lam "flying_lambo" Van Trinh (182,400), Mark "balou" Crocker (133,400) and Ladbrokes legend, Paul "ActionJack" Jackson (126,100). Katherine "minimilk" Hartree also spent some time on the TV table, sitting next to no less than Phil "Unabomber" Laak.

It was also a superb day for two of our 'big' names. The last of our remaining sponsored pros, Jeff "JaffaCake" Kimber, sits third out of our remaining players, commanding a chip stack of 174,200. Read more from Jeff here.

The other aforementioned player going well is Steve "fivek" Davis who is sitting on a monster stack of 143,500. The snooker star is looking for his second cash in just in his third World Series of Poker Main Event, and is really leading from the front in his capacity as Team Captain.

Away from the tables it was time for a number of our players to visit a firing range, where they got to vent their bad beat frustrations on the paper targets. Take that, you Yankeedonks!
