In 2008, our dream was to create the largest European Team to compete in the WSOP Main Event and hopefully bring the title of World Champion back to Europe. We succeeded.

120 players representing Ladbrokes competed in the 2008 WSOP Main Event, with 12 players making the money, including Team Captain Steve Davis who cashed for second time in 3 years.

This was capped by fellow Ladbrokes Poker Team member Peter Eastgate fulfilling every poker player’s dream of landing the world’s most prestigious title “World Champion” and on the way collecting the second largest ever poker payday $9,150,000. Peter has now signed a three year sponsorship deal that could double this payday.

This year, our dream is to give as many poker players as possible the opportunity to go to Las Vegas, be part of the World’s biggest poker event, play poker in some of the world’s most famous card rooms, enjoy the Vegas nightlife in true Ladbrokes style and hopefully deliver a European winner for a second consecutive year. You can win a Vegas Dream package in the $550 Vegas Dream Weekly Finals that are being held every Wednesday evening until 10th June 2009.

You can qualify for the Weekly Finals through the $60 Daily Finals, which are fed by $6 satellites that are held each day.

What happened with Team Ladbrokes at WSOP 2008?

You’ll see what qualifying with Team Ladbrokes is all about! The Team had their best year yet of number of qualifiers cashing in the Main Event including our very own Captain, Steve Davis who also cashed in 2007 winning $20,600.

A total of 12 Team Ladbrokes players out of 120 qualifiers finished in the money:

1. The Promoter of this promotion is Ladbrokes International, PO Box 150, Europort, Gibraltar.
2. Ladbrokes reserve the right to amend dates in accordance with the 2009 WSOP schedule being confirmed.
3. 7 nights hotel accommodation for the package winner and one guest will be provided at Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino. The supplement for any additional guests in your room, will need to paid directly by you to the hotel.
4. Winners of Vegas Dream Main Event Satellites who progress beyond Day 1 the Main Event will have their accommodation extended free of charge whilst they remain in the Main Event in return for wearing Ladbrokes branding.
5. Players reaching the last 27 who agree a sponsorship deal with another Poker Room will not be required to wear Ladbrokes branding.
6. $2,000 to cover flights and expenses will be paid into player’s accounts within 3 days of winning a Vegas Dream Package or 7 days of Harrah’s confirming WSOP 2009 schedule if a package is won before the Main Event dates are published.
7. Package winners are required to make their own travel arrangements to and from Las Vegas.
8. The monies generated for Main Event entries through Vegas Dream Satellites will be transferred directly to the Rio and all registrations will be undertaken by Ladbrokes personnel.
9. Participation in the Vegas Dream Satellite is mandatory for all package winners. There is no cash alternative or transfers permitted. Main Event packages won in the Vegas Dream Satellites are also not transferable.
10. Any players who do not compete in the Second and Last Chance satellites will receive the associated credit into their Ladbrokes Poker account.
11. The minimum age limit for the all poker tournaments in Las Vegas is 21 on the day the tournament commence.
12. By winning a Package, players agree to reasonable publicity, including betting markets around the event and television media interviews and press releases. Event reports posted on Ladbrokespoker.com will contain the name and alias of all winners.
13. Players can only win one satellite entry to a Vegas Dream Package online qualifier, there is no cash alternative and seats are not transferable. Should any player win two seats to any one tournament, they will forfeit one of them. The only exception is if a second Vegas Dream package won by any means other than a weekly final. In these circumstances, the second and any further packages may be redeemed for the cash value of the second package.
14. In the event of a service crash or a disruption, the affected tournament will be rerun at the discretion of Ladbrokes. Ladbrokes will be the sole arbiter as to whether a tournament will be rerun.
15. Ladbrokes accepts no responsibility whatsoever for system or connection problems that might affect any player during any of these tournaments, such as a fold / timeout, or disconnects as per the general rules of the Ladbrokes Poker service. If the any tournament is disrupted by system or network issues, Ladbrokes reserves the right to resolve the issue as it sees fit.
16. Ladbrokes reserves the right to refuse this offer to any player or to withdraw this / or part of this offer / promotion at any time.
17. Ladbrokes reserves the right to amend the tournament rules at any time.
