Online poker - why play online poker?

Playing Online Poker

Londoners or other big city dwellers may not believe this, but there are places in the UK – and my home is one – that are up to three hours from a poker room. Without online poker, I would not be able to regularly play a game I find challenging and really enjoy. Now I’m too old to play sports, it keeps me competitive. Even my wife approves…she says it keeps me from slumping in front of the television set and becoming a mindless vegetable (what she really means is that she gets to watch the programmes of her choice)!

I particularly like Ladbrokes online poker because (a) it has more of a community feel about it than other sites, and (b) I feel there is someone protecting me from letting it get out of hand – in the form of the maximum I can invest in a given period. I know from personal experience that Ladbrokes cares about its players; I was at the World Series last year and Ladbrokes out-shone every other site for the quality of their players’ room and the support they gave their qualifiers. Everyone was impressed.

I also like playing “live” but the reality is that it is so much more convenient to play online poker most of the time; also there’s a wider choice of games, and in particular satellites and other opportunities to qualify for exciting events. I particularly like the 8pm $100 tournaments; they’re tough but any competent poker player has a chance if he or she plays at their best - and they can give you a terrific night’s poker. One night I will win one – and, boy, will you hear about it !
